Peace Projects
Peace Projects may encompass various pillars of Positive Peace or have a long and proud history of serving their communities. Estimates are suggestions only, counts and time may vary from club to club. In any event, information is provided for ease of reference only, and not intended to be the only source of information particularly for service projects. As with any project, parties would be encouraged to review with diligence and appropriate professionals as they would any service project.
Club Activities
#1 Form a Peace Committee:

Service Time: 1 x mo for 1 yr + as needed Est Cost: $0
To form a Rotary Peace Committee, your club needs to select at least two interested members and notify your Blub board. This committee will spearhead projects, host peace education sessions, and promote Rotary Peace Fellowships to help your club qualify as an official Rotary Action Group for Peace Peacebuilder Club if desired.
#2: Become a Peacebuilder Club:

Service Time: 2 meeting presentations/year + events Est Cost: $40
To form a Rotary Peacebuilder Club, your Rotary club must officially partner with the Rotary Action Group for Peace (RAGFP). This designation shows a commitment to tackling the root causes of conflict by focusing on peace and conflict resolution as a core area of service.
Service Projects
#1: Plant a Peace Pole:

A Peace Pole is a hand-crafted multilingual monument that displays the universal message “May Peace Prevail on Earth”. Planted by local Rotary Clubs in parks, schools, and civic centers, it serves as an internationally recognized symbol of unity and a visible commitment to peace. 6-8’ lengths, 4-8 languages. Clubs might hold an unveiling ceremony demonstrating their commitment to Positive Peace, with special guests and other activities. Pole is made to order and shipped to you.
#2: Peace Labyrinth:

Service Time: 10-20 hours + ceremony Est Cost: $5,000-$10,000+
A Rotary Peace Labyrinth is a public walking meditation path constructed by a local Rotary Club to promote community harmony and mental well-being. Unlike a maze designed to confuse you, a labyrinth features a single, winding path that leads to the center and back out, used for mindfulness, grounding, and peaceful reflection. These public spaces are a physical manifestation of Rotary International’s core mission to foster peace and community well being.
#3: Legacy Peace Path:

Service Time: $300 Est Cost: 1-2 Days
A Peace Path is a painted or paved pathway on school grounds equipped with step-by-step visual prompts that guide elementary students through resolving minor conflicts independently. Students with disagreements stand at the beginning, moving forward one marker at a time, each step instructing them to use communication tools (using I statements, sharing feelings and using active listening). The final steps guide them to compromise, apologize or agree on a solution. Every year graduating class or new group add a new piece to grow the movement.
