Richmond Rotary will partner with the Robby Poblete Foundation on creating an Art of Peace Program for Richmond, CA. Art of Peace, Richmond, will use materials from guns collected from the gun buybacks held by Richmond Police Department, along with confiscated firearms from throughout the state by law enforcement agencies, to transform weapons of destruction into instruments of hope through art. The foundation in collaboration with Richmond Rotary and other community partners, will work with local artists to issue calls for entry, review concept proposals, select artists, and will produce a community exhibit or a permanent piece of public art accompanied by a public, community-wide event to raise awareness about the impacts of gun violence and promote healing and peace in our community.
