A Week That Lasts a Lifetime

Former Camp Royal campers have a tough time choosing their favorite part of the week. Was it the practice of mindful meditation, the team dynamics at the ropes course, the discovery of their own intrinsic leadership skills, or simply learning the power of building a supportive community?
For me it was all of the above, and I’m writing this letter 15 years after attending camp as a high school senior. It is, in fact, a life changing experience that Rotary makes possible for 130+ teens a year.

Our very successful camp program will again be led by
Lain Hensley and Odyssey Teams. Funded by participating
Rotary clubs, the fees will be $1,250.00 per camper for this
life-enriching 6-day 5-night adventure. Transportation
to and from camp will be by chartered bus.

Campers Testimonials

From building confidence and discovering their own leadership potential, to forming friendships that last well beyond camp, their stories reflect the heart of our mission. These testimonials highlight how camp not only sparks personal growth but also nurtures well-being through meaningful social connections.

I came to camp over the summer and I would love to share my experience with others. There were so many well rounded experiences that made me want to become a better person, not just for myself and my future, but the people around me!

Camp Royal is truly a transformational experience that all high school juniors should take part of. You will make lifelong friends, unforgettable memories, and learn valuable lessons and techniques that you’ll always carry with you. Camp Royal isn’t just another summer camp, it’s a place where strangers gather alone, and leave together as family.

If that is the case here it is: Camp Royal was truly a life changing experience for me, it helped me understand not to take anything for granted and to be open with myself and others. I realized that hiding myself and pushing things away wouldn’t help anything. This has helped me a lot this year as I have been able to find my group of people and those who will help me benefit. This experience truly changed the way I look at everything and if I had the opportunity to go again I would.

Madyson

My experience at Camp Royal provided both an immediate and lasting affect on both my external leadership capabilities and internal confidence and self management. Camp Royal has all the facilities and capabilities of any top leadership program in the nation, however I would be hard pressed to find an organization who puts on a camp with the same impact; Camp Royal is in a league of its own. Where other camps provide surface level insight into leadership and repeat the same jargon heard at a school assembly, Camp Royal gives its participants deep insights into both the intellectual and emotional aspects of self growth and psychology. The deep emotional bonds forged at Camp Royal give perspective on its effect on each and every one of the participants. It is about more than just the speakers, the environment and attitude create a space where the truly valuable information provided can be truly understood. For these reasons, Camp Royal provides a truly unique and wonderful experience for any Junior who is lucky enough to participate.
