Lead Club Name: Paradise

Lead Rotarian: Fender, Dean

Year: 2023-24

Project Budget: $35,500.00

Over the years the Rotary Club of Paradise has had numerous members who live and or work in Magalia Ca, and unincorporated community of 11,400 just above Paradise on Skyway. This community was also devastated by the Camp Fire of 2018 but received very little notarity or funding to renew it’s culture and community. Our club has dedicated it’s time and funds to enhance this underserved communities recreational opportunities by helping the local Parks and Recreation District build a new playground within the proposed new Lakeridge park overlooking the Feather River Canyon. The plans are in final development and the Park District plans to break ground this summer on the park with completion in 2024//2025. The Clubs board has approved $10,000 of it’s funds at the April 2023 board meeting and is requesting a $10,000 grant from the Paradise Rotary Foundation’s disaster fund along with funds from the Durham club. We are applying for a $15,000 grant from District 5160 DDF Funds.
