Durham Rotary will work with Durham High School to provide one cart of Chromebook computers which is 45 computers to Durham High School students. This includes a charging cart and licensing for three years. This will enable students to access distance learning, complete assignments remotely, and enhance their ability to succeed in college. Durham school district is behind with their technology which has become increasingly more apparent during this COVID-19 outbreak where students are doing school work from home. The district is not able to afford this given their current budget. If outside parties do not provide additional funding the district will not be able to purchase as many Chromebooks as they need. The district is already using Chromebooks and is well versed on how they operate.
