For its 50th anniversary, Moraga Rotary wanted to build something new for Moraga. Member Cliff Dochterman advised the Club to “go big”, so the All-Access Playground was developed at the Moraga Commons. Some parents of special needs children were on the committee, as were fund-raising specialists. Eventually, about $340,000 was raised, The playground covered about 5000 s.f. with soft rubberized surface and about two dozen pieces of specialized equipment. The equipment was assembled by Rotarians, other service club members, community volunteers, and Boy Scouts. The playground was officially opened in 2018, is very popular, and it received considerable publicity including an article in the Rotarian magazine.
