1. During major holidays, support seniors and families recovery from addiction and homelessness by delivering food suitable for a celebration. Demonstrate support and caring, as well as provide a healthy and celebratory meal. 2. Help maintain and build Club membership.
Food insecure and / or recovering individuals in Southern Solano County, identified by our two non-profit agency partners, receive a humane, generous, healthy, cost-free offering of food to feed them and their family during major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter). The offering is designed to feed their body and spirit as they encounter a fellow member of the community who genuinely wants to help, and who in some cases offers implicit support for their new way of life.
These deliveries have included isolated seniors, pregnant young women, and mothers emerging from a life on the street in addiction to accept help, homeless persons, and others with food insecurity. A total of 322 bags of groceries were delivered to approximately 970 individuals. Deliveries were typically made at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
