A D-5160 Team participated with the Rotary Club of Agra Taj Mahal (D-3110) in polio immunizations in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India the week of March 15-23 and in one day immunized over 300 children, the next day helped conduct the ‘Mop-Up’ round going house to house to find children who were unable to get immunized during the regular program the previous day.  District Rotarians included PDG Brian D. Thiessen, and Alamo Rotarian Carolyn Thiessen as well as non-Rotarian Mitsue Yanagihara of Oakland.  They also visited a new school that the Agra Taj Mahal Club has helped establish in the small village of Shamshabad outside of Agra, that started with 17 students a couple of years ago and now has over 450 students.   Our D-5160 team took with it a California Redwood and planted it on the school grounds - expressing the hope that in the future Rotarians from around the world, and the students, will be able to visit and stand in the shade of the tree together . - Brian Thiessen
