Finding Peace Fellows

NOMINATING CANDIDATES: District 5160 may nominate candidates who then will compete with nominees from other Districts for this international, worldwide fellowship program.  Candidates from the U.S. would attend a center outside the U.S. since one of the program requirements is attending a school outside of the home country.  As with other Foundation programs, immediate family members of Rotarians are not eligible.  Nominations (including completed applications) are due to the District Chair by June 1st, each year.

Rotary Clubs should be looking for and communicating with potential candidates continually and also work on these goals while doing so:   1) familiarizing the candidate with Rotary, 2) learning more about the candidate, and 3) assuring completion of the application process including allowing the candidate to learn about each of the peace centers and determine which one is best for the candidate to achieve his/her goals.  The application takes time to complete and includes language competency documentation, references, and more.  Clubs are expected to interview candidates they nominate for District consideration.  After June 1st, clubs’ nominations along with completed applications, are distributed to the District Committee for final interviews and completion of the District portion of the application.
