Individuals to Contact for Assistance
The following people have experience with the Literacy Project, in which Rotarians personally delivered 30,000 hardbound dictionaries (The American Heritage Children's Dictionary by Houghton Mifflin) to every third grader in our District. In May 1998, the dictionaries were delivered at the District Conference. Seven Hundred Rotarians and friends unloaded them, affixed Rotary labels and loaded them for return to local communities, where Rotarians from every club presented them to students in the schools. Over 10,000 thank you cards and letters were received from students, teachers and parents from around the District.
