The Ambassadorial Scholarship

This year's deadline for submission of Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship applications is fast approaching, and we are asking for your help in promoting this important Rotary program. Pertinent dates related to the enclosed application and flyer are as follows:
PLEASE NOTE: These applications are for the 2006-2007 school year. Make sure your applicants understand this.
- Deadline for submission of applications: April 30, 2006
- Interviews of applicants: Beginning of June, 2006
- District Recommendations for scholarships: mid June, 2006
- Formal offer of scholarship from Rotary International: November 2006
The Ambassadorial Scholarship Program is an important part of the Rotary International Foundation. In selecting applicants for the prestigious award, the committee will look primarily for both the intellectual qualification of the candidates and for their interpersonal skills in representing the principles of Rotary abroad. While we are selecting qualified Americans for work and study abroad, we are also hosting visiting Ambassadorial Scholars from other countries. We hope in this way that the Ambassadorial Scholarship Program, as we represent it, will contribute to international understanding.
I urge you on behalf of the Foundation and the Scholarship Committee to search out the outstanding young people in your community. Find those whose lives can be enriched and whose knowledge and understanding can further Rotary ideals.
